Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico was born into a music-loving family. She spent the majority of her childhood listening to classical music, boleros from the past, ranchero traditional or romantic tunes, as well old classical pieces. Ana is a lover of the opera and tango genres as well as every form of dramatic performances. Her mother taught her to sing, but she started intensive training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she performed with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. After relocating into California in United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before shifting to her home in southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist in traditional Latin American music at private events. Her passion for the performing arts, music, as well as the arts keeps her engaged in local projects in both her capacity as an artist and educator. Ana was also a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana is grateful for being able to share her love and enthusiasm for old-fashioned Latin American songs with others as she hopes to inspire a passion particularly among the younger generation in order to keep this tradition alive.Viva Mexico!
